Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence fractured his foot on Wednesday’s practice. This comes barely days after fellow DE Randy Gregory was put into Covid-19/Reserve list on Monday.
There is no clear timescale for his return to action yet. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport broke this news earlier today.
The #Cowboys best pass-rusher, Demarcus Lawrence is now out for the better part of the season. A broken foot, suffered in practice. Just terrible luck for Lawrence and the Dallas D.

Lawrence exited practice early, landing on the Cowboys’ practice report as a limited participant with a foot injury. Further examination revealed the extent of the injury that will keep him from participating in Dallas’ Week 2 game against the Chargers and beyond, as Lawrence broke the fifth-metatarsal in his foot and it will require surgery that, if all goes well, should allow him to return in November, Rapoport added.
Will be Back & Ready for War. Believe it. 🤘🏿

Lawrence had 5 tackles and a forced fumble in the season opener at Tampa. Tarell Basham who appeared as a comedian on Hard Knocks and Dorance Armstrong are set to get more playing time in his absence. Thin looking cowboys defense is already under pressure. This is where Dan Quinn’s coaching abilities and experience come into the equation.
